Greek Nightlife

Greece has become a mecca of diverse nightlife, consisting of casinos, bars, discos, and outdoor theaters. The nightlife generally starts when working people get home, which is around 9:00. It lasts until the sun comes up. During this time of the day, you will hear different types of music and see people who are drinking, dancing, and having a good time many different ways.

Big cities such as Athens have all the diversities of nightlife. The earliest casino was established in 1928 at Loutraki. It still stands today, along with a beach and spa resort that are easily reached by train or car. Athens also has area called Plaka, which is a group of opened cafes and bars placed side by side. When the doors are opened at night, you can hear the different types of music that each place is playing. Discos are either opened to the public or are private clubs, and they have a wide range of music. There are also numerous theaters where you can a see a play being performed under the stars.

You don't have to be on the mainland to experience the wonderful nightlife of Greece. Most of the larger islands such as Rhodes and Corfu have large hotels and casinos that are adjusted to fit both the island lifestyle and the nightlife that tourists crave. Greece has successfully combined both the ancient and modern nightlife to make it an exciting and wonderful place to vacation time and time again.
