Islands of Greece

One of the most pleasant places to visit in the Mediterranean Sea is the Greek Islands. There are many islands to choose from, but the top ten seem to be Santorini, Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Mykonos, Paros, Skiathos, Ios, Naxos, and Sifnos.

Santorini is well-known for its beaches, nightlife, and scenery. The most popular beaches are Perissa and Kamari. The sunsets are one of the most beautiful in the world, and the overall scenery is gorgeous. It portrays a very romantic setting that is wonderful for honeymoons and weddings, and has an international airport for multiple accesses.

Crete is the largest of the Greek Isles, and sports the highest population. Crete was home to the Minoan civilization, which means that there are many historic sites to see. Crete is a popular holiday spot for locals, and also has an airport for easy access. The third best Greek Island to visit is Corfu, which has museums, libraries, theatres, and plenty of annual festivities to keep the tourists entertained.

Rhodes is the number four island that is primarily known for the seventh wonder of the world, the Colossus of Rhodes. The Colossus of Rhodes is a statue of the god Helios, which was sculpted around the third century B.C. Mykonos is also a great island to visit, as it offers a well-liked party spot. It is usually packed with fellow partiers on the beach and in the night clubs, where the fun never stops. With thousands of years of history, wonderful settings, and great people, the Greek Islands have something for every type of vacationer.
