Greece is quite the place to live. It is surrounded by the Aegean and Ionian Sea. Greece is known as the land of the gods and historic buildings and statues are great tourist attractions. There are over 6000 islands and every one is unique. Some are quiet, while others are great for Greek parties. Some are romantic getaways for couples while others are great as tourist sites for all. There are so many islands that not even a tenth of them are inhabited.
One could spend a year in Greece and not even begin to explore all of the islands. Those that do have life are usually populated with 250 people or less, so one can really get to know the people and become attached to the land. It is so beautiful with all the water; it is like a haven.
One can go from one island to the next without too much worry about the ferries not making it to their destination, as they are all very safe. It is easy to see why Greece is known as the land of water. Crete is the largest island and Euboea is the 2nd largest. The North Aegean islands are off the west coast of Turkey. The Dodecanese group of islands is South East between Crete and Sporades. There are 9 little islets around the mainland of Greece and each holds its own particular charm. So, if you’re looking to experience a little taste of history, along with some wonderful food and spectacular views, Greece is the perfect destination.
